  • Shouldn't kz maps be more about aesthetics as a large part besides climbing aspect, because kz_gigablockier_pub honestly looks much more poorly made than any other map from this release, even custom. I don't want to sound all negative here so maybe it's the the pic. But then, maybe take some time to make pictures a human can actually make something out of?

  • gigablockier = a theme, a design which means the map has to be huge and thats the main purpose of it, its not poor, the blocks and parts might be kind of basic but for such long map and old school styled map there's no way we wil reject it, also re-worked with the legend KreedZ, there's really nothing bad on it, its just nowdays everyone wants modern stuff.

    I think KREEDZ MAPS and CUSTOM MAPS are an OK distinction as headings because of the tags (not that it should matter much).

    But I understand what Toffifee means. Type Kreedz is a bit misleading. A kz map can have elements of climbing, jumping, shooting, puzzles, slides, bhops, labyrinths etc. But, so can a custom map of course.

    Saying type Kreedz is like saying type custom (which already has been done in the headings for the tag). I don't know what the type usually is, but I would guess it's about the elements in the map...like climbing, longjumping, bhopping, puzzle solving, slides, spikes...I dunno...descriptive perhaps.

    At least, this is what I think Toffifee refers to?

  • well its simple, pub = can be played in a public server, the normal version has alot of stuff that will not let a single player to finish the map at ease cus there are buttons and switches and stuff which must be done in a run at a specific time without other players disturbing,

  • If I get it right, there are no light spheres on pub version, which you should get before trying the next parts.
    Also a big improve for me is that map doesn't need a -num_edicts 4096 in cs launch options, which means that I can actiually put it on publics. But maybe I'm wrong :)

  • By the way there is no "nice lady" at the start, who can provide me with some info, so the bilboard has a misleading info :D

  • hi, I have a question about nks_pupu. Plugins can't find stop button, cause it's specified like this:

    Nuik, are you sure that target name should be "smm", cause this what plugins usually check. For example your start button is

    It's target is OK, so players can press start, but can't press finish. Should I add "smm" to stop buttons list or should I check tartgetname instead of target (which I believe not)?

    When I tested it on my lan with ProKreedz it worked fine. I have no idea how other people add sound to their timers and really no idea how your plugin recognizes the button press. It is: counter_stop_button ->smm->activate sound and counter_off trigger relay. Default was counter_stop_button -> counter_off.

  • this is not only about my plugin, here are some examples:
    1) xtreme-jumps lan
    pev(ent, pev_target, szTarget, 16);
    2) prokreedz (this version, don't know what is your one)
    pev(ent, pev_target, szTarget, 31);
    3) gladius (and kz-rush, which is based on it)
    pev(iEnt, pev_target, szTarget, charsmax(szTarget));

    As you can see, all of them check pev_target, not pev_targetname. And you've tryied to install all three plugins and none of them worked with finish button.

    I understand that you want to play sound on finish and very appreciate your work and activity these days, but you should ask other mappers about this issue and I think it would be nice if you will fix button target. I'm not a mapper and cannot help you, I just know what plugins need, sorry :(

    The normal version of Gigablockier has globes, so a player can choose between finding all of them to open up the secret path (the white castle) or just run the normal path and finish topside. This pub version only has one path which makes it easier for those wanting to play it on a public server.

    The normal version also has several big secret areas which have been removed in the pub version. Basically it is a stripped down version of the old map, with only one path to climb, so it will play on a public server even if the server has many plugins.

    If you enjoy this public version, then please also check out the full version.

  • oh, thank you, I understand the idea now, I'll definetly pass it today and write some words for kz-rush about it. I've done a few videos with runs on this map, but I have never finished it yet.
    btw, I suppose the globes above the "nice lady" are the same that she refers to talking about collecting items, aren't they?

    Yes, the globes above her are examples of the globes to be collected.

    To play a sound triggered by the same button press as stop button simply add a trigger relay with the same name. You can have several actions done based on one name, you don't need to use a multimanager etc. When it comes to some ents you can skip the relay even.

    Also, I have uploaded the new archive for the map so people can redownload.

  • nks_pupu is a kind of map i would never accept.
    its a complete rip-off of recent muJik's bhop maps just with a worse textures and incredibly hard bhops instead of tricky ones. distance isn't everything on hard maps, think about it..
