![]() | Totally for the implementation. Even if we don't include it, we all visit websites with these functions, so our IPs will always get stored by Facebook... These changes are just needed for XJ and its development. |
Bla^ on 03/03/12 - 15:35
| Srsly..Someone uses these like/share buttons? | |
finzEr on 03/03/12 - 15:48
![]() | Why do we need facebook to store our IPs? And how will it help XJ improve and develop? as balling said it the chatbox, nothing is clearly exlained here. It's not because most of the websites use this implemention that XJ has to use it. I'm against this idea. XJ is one of the websitse that provides a minimum of privacy without any facebook shits, it shouldn't change. |
ndR on 03/03/12 - 16:12 | |
![]() | finzEr, Facebook automatically stores your IP on 99% of the website you visit. The like/subscribe button gathers informations from visitors. Guess why 99% of the big websites use it? Because it's part of any big website development. We will never oblige people to use these functions, so I don't see what's the problem for people who don't use/like Facebook, since they will not use them. |
Kangaroo on 03/03/12 - 16:55
![]() | I'm not against it, but I really don't understand what good this would do for XJ. We implement the website with Facebook and join the social media craze. Good, now everyone who "Likes" XJ will get updates on Facebook whenever XJ posts there. This doesn't improve the site itself. Large websites and corporations use it for publicity purposes, because "Like" buttons serve as subscriptions. I do not wish to be the instigator of conflict, but I don't understand why we need these, or how they aid our development. |
balling on 03/03/12 - 17:05
| | Kangaroo said it. I see this as a bit pointless. I dont see how this would improve website. |
Memories on 03/03/12 - 17:22
| I'm against it, I don't really know how Facebook would change XJ or its visitors. | |
'mello on 03/03/12 - 18:34
| this shouldnt even have been asked as a poll , just implement it , mby there is no need of this facebook implementation but for sure it wont do any bad thing to Xj | |
qfiman* on 03/03/12 - 20:49
![]() | the only reason i use facebook is to keep in touch with "old" friends from school and university. i dont "like" any pages at all because imo its senseless (no extra information given etc.). there is no need to implement like-buttons or anything else here on xj because - as kangaroo already mentioned - it wont make xj more interesting or smthn like dat... just my 2cents ;D |
perd0 on 03/04/12 - 01:54
| | This won't do any harm to our privacy. So just include it and don't even ask. You're the admins, you don't need to ask - sometimes you should decide on your own and I think this is the case. I am voting for ''I don't care'' ...because I really don't give a fuck. As I said, it's up to you admins. |
spr1n on 03/04/12 - 12:39
| | I dont like FB and dont use it, so I voted against, but I dont really care much about this implementation actually. I suggest to consider Steam Web API implementation instead |
'mello on 03/04/12 - 18:10
| correct me if im wrong , if a fb user likes a news here on xj , that like will appear o his fb profile and everybody who visits that fb user's profile will be able to see the XJ liked news ?! and ofc afterwards some fb visitor is gonna visit xj and mby start playing kreedz ... if so you should definitely implement this fb thing. | |
niki on 03/04/12 - 18:38
| | mello that's right, social network's are mainly for the collection of people. |
hm^ on 03/06/12 - 19:13 | |
| Just implement it... The advantage is only for big websites for sure, because they have contracts with FB for commercials etc... XJ will have no benefit from this. | |
remake on 03/07/12 - 20:55
| As far as my fb profile wont be posted all over XJ I don't have anything against it. | |
VErzuZ on 03/09/12 - 14:01
![]() | I have nothing against it, if you don't want to be tracked you can use a add-on called DoNotTrackPlus in Firefox , it blocks all the companies that tries to track you. But i think this feature would be really nice, and if you don't like it you just don't have to use it! |

spermis on 04/09/12 - 17:45
| Torex, this would be an optional choice, so if you choose to use facebook, it will be all over XJ, but if you dont - it wont. Please, implement it! | |

mmmsas on 06/09/12 - 12:21
![]() | As kangaroo said, I think that after facebook integration, this site will suffer more. I mean that less people will come to see the news because why should I come to this site if I can just see all the news on my facebook newsfeed. |

Voting yes might affect your privacy, as facebook stores the IP adresses of our users if we use the plugin (like/share facebook buttons and functions) for unknown reasons (probably ad related).
More information can be found on the web.
