Guide to XJ Cups

Over the past few months it has come to my clear attention that many, many people are either unaware of
our cups, or have absolutely no clue how to play with us here at Xtreme-Jumps. I have also noticed that
many people that do play in our cups, are unaware of our rules and deem
fit to call out XJ-Admins on unfairness.

I hope that this guide will be helpful for all who wish to play in our cups
and clear things up for those who are unaware of many things
in cups.

What is a cup?
A cup is small jump tournament between 8 to 4 players. You play on a series of maps and the winner at the
end of each cup the winner is given the full amount of points at the end!

Chapter 1 - Rules

During cups there are many rules that you must follow. We take each rule into consideration while we
spectate the matches being played, so it is in your best interest to remember and follow each.

Jump Cup Rules

1. All Short-cuts are allowed. How ever if you choose to do a short-cut, it is obviously at your own risk.
Whether you choose to take health at the begging of the round is your choice.
The only time god-mode will be set on players is during Team-Cups so that the second team mate may
start with health.

2. You may not in any case use any other weapon besides a USP or knife to jump with.

3. You may not camp in one spot for longer then 5 seconds.
This includes purposely jumping back to the previous jump at the end of rounds to give your self another
5 seconds. If you are caught doing this you will automatically lose the round.

4. If you want to give up please change your name to "Give Up" or by typing "!Giveup" in game.
With out saying this, the admin running the cup will not end the round.

5. We know its tempting to get angry during your rounds. We know that sometimes people get lucky during
their matches. This does not give you a free opportunity to get upset and BM someone for it.
We ask that you give every player you full amount of respect no matter what their skill level may be.

6. When joining cups, ADD scripts on IRC are STRICTLY forbidden.
It could end up being a temporary or even permanent ban from Xtreme-Jumps cups/website.

7. Each match is 5 minutes long each.
If both players are found to be on the same block after the admin has done a position check there will be a
short rematch. The rematch playtime is usually 1 to 2 minutes long.

8. Do not join a team while a cup is running. Upon joining the server check to see if one is in session.
If so, please join the Spectator menu.
Note: This rule is taken serious by many administrators, more specifically if the admin is in play.
It could result in your being banned or suspended.

9. If you are stuck during a match or find your self with the 0 health point`s bug, you may do one of two things.
The first being to type /start and restart the run.
The second option is to type "Kill" in consol. (Auto Re-spawn is enabled so that you may return to the
start of the map.)
In no case are administrators supposed to help you in these situations. It is a risk you the player are taking.

10. At the end of your match, if your position check (/poscheck) is in the air and you either fall down to the
bottom of the map or die falling you automatically lose your match.
If this happens your position check will be at the start of the map. It does not matter if you made the next
jump or were about to make it.
To prevent these situations we ask that you stop jumping with at-least 2 seconds before the match end.

11. No spectators are allowed. Do not ask administrators if you may have someone spectate or you your
self may spectate. If you wish to watch the Jump cup you may join our HLTV server.
Note: If the HLTV is down the admin may make exceptions.

12. Administrators are always right.

13. Please, with everything else at Xtreme-Jumps, remember that this is a international community and
everyone speaks English.

14. Do not, absolutely do not, PM or Highlight administrator on IRC to start cups.
This is possibly the most annoying thing to every administrator currently staffed with Xtreme-Jumps.
It will result on and "on the spot" ban from the channel.

As I`ve mentioned before, we take all of these rules seriously and any violation will be taken in to
consideration.

Chapter 2 - How to Join a Cup

This section of my Guide will explain how to join a cup.

There are a few things you will need before we get started so if you don`t already have them please follow my step-by-step guide how to get set up!

1. Get mIRC

2. Install mIRC to the directory of your choice

3. Locate your mIRC.exe or mIRC icon. Wait a few seconds and Click ok. (Not Register)

4. A screen labeled "mIRC options" should pop-up. Fill in the following information and press "Ok"

5. After you`ve pressed ok. You will see a blank screen with nothing on it. In the bottom bar, type in /server irc.quakenet.org

6. Ok, you are now connected to the network the Xtreme-Jumps channel is located on. Now in the same bar type in /j #Xtreme-Jumps

7. Congratulations! You have just joined #Xtreme-Jumps our Main IRC Channel!

Now that you have joined out IRC channel its time you learned how to join one or many of our cups!

1. Patience. If you want to know if a cup is already running when you join the channel or check the channel please type "!Status". This will either say Cup Status: No cups started or Cup Status: Current cup is full/ Needs x/8 players.

2. If you see that a cup has started feel free to type "!add"

3. Once you type add you must wait until a cup is full. If you would like to make sure you have joined the cup, feel free to ask the current admin to type "!Status". This shows you the admin status of the cup.

4. When you see that a cup is full you must wait until the admin sets the maps that are going to be played during the cup.

5. After you see the match status with the maps, the Xtreme-Bot will Personal Message you the IP address and Password. Note: If you change your name in IRC the bot will not PM you the password. It is not up to the admin to send you the password if you fail to receive it.

6. After that is done join the server and wait for your match to be played!

That the easiest and only way for you to join our Cups. It`s pretty easy, you just need to have patience and have fast typing skills a lot of the time to "!add".

Chapter 3 - Commands/IRC commands

Now that you know the basic commands on how to join IRC and join our Cups, its time you learned the other commands of the Xtreme-Bot.

Commands

1. !add - Allows you to join XJ cups.

2. !remove - Removes you from the current cup. Note. Once a cup is full you may not remove. If you leave once this happens you are at risk of suspension.

3. !status - Shows the current status of the cup: Full, Needs Players or Not Running.

4. !locate - This command allows you to download a map if you do not have it. To use the command type "!locate
