| | So I recently finished building my new computer and got all of my software set up and I've run into a strange compiling error with hammer. I'm almost positive everything is set up correctly and I did a bit of searching online and was unable to find a solution.
"* Could not execute the command: C:\PROGRA~2\Steam\STEAMA~1\JTAYLO~1\ZHLT-V~1\tools\hlcsg.exe -nowadtextures "c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\jtaylorg123\valve_hammer_editor\maps\test" * Windows gave the error message: "Access is denied."" I am on the administrative account if that is the issue, so I'm not sure why I'd be getting an access denied issue.
Does anyone know how to solve this by chance? Thanks in advance. |

| | I would suggest you to setup all mapping related things into some other path that does not have any space (f.e. c:\mapping\vhe\)
Setting up batch compiler is also good idea. Many experienced mappers use it instead of vhe compiling |

| | I actually use a program called "The Compilator" when compiling final versions for maps. But when I want to try something out really quick, I'll give it a run through on the hammer editor and proceed to test it. I am up for recommendations though. What would be a good option? Nem's, Orbital? |

| | Same problem here, I get it with zhlt. Tried with hammer's compiler but I kept getting some strange errors. It's weird tho, everything is set up correctly, no spaces in path, everything in the same drive. Also made sure files aren't read-only. Will update if I find a fix.
Edit: Well, now it works for no apparent reason. Tried with batch then hammer's and they both worked. :/ |
