There have been a lot of complaints and misunderstandings about the current mapcheck system and its activity recently. Therefore, we discussed about possible improvements to our system and we are happy to present them today.

From now on both kz and custom maps can be submitted and nominated either publicly or via the old form. The mapadmins will do their regular work (checks and reviews) in our public forum now, too.

Furthermore, we lowered the kz tag standards and wrote them down in a list. Check the extended newspost for more information.

Two ways to submit a map

You can submit a map...

by using Public Check function or

by using our "Submit Map" function


When you chose to use the old way to submit a map via our "Submit Map" function, it will not be released to the public and only mapcheck admins will receive it.

Public check

By opening a forum thread, everyone in this community is able to test and vote for your map. All feedback from both the members and the admins will be posted in your thread.

To point that out again: there is only one public thread about each map, where feedback and votes are posted from the admins and the public.

You can still nominate old maps by opening a forum thread in the same section. The only difference is, that they need at least 10 yes votes until they are checked by our admin crew, whereas new maps are checked automatically.

The thread about your map must contain certain information. Read the guidelines!

Voting system for kz maps

The mapcheck admins have to agree, that the map deserves the kz_ tag.

Public feedback and suggestions are welcome and considered. You can help both the mapper and the admins by taking part.

Voting system for custom maps

If more than 50% of all mapcheck admins vote yes, that map is accepted.

For 30 or more yes votes from other members, that map is accepted. Be aware that votes are only count if they fulfill certain requirements; you can find more information about that in our guidelines.

An online mapcheck server

In the near future an online server will be hosted, where all publicly submitted and nominated maps are running. Thanks to fragility this is possible, he sponsors that server.

All mappers should appreciate that offer, since it makes live-checks a lot of easier and more common. A cosy way to find and fix all bugs or mapping mistakes is by simply joining this server and listen to other members!
