Xtreme-Jumps Movies

Greetings XJ!

This time I'd like to present you another clip of mine, this time followed by a team of top kzsk players, namely:
Country: Czech Republic ChiChiN Mapper CS 1.6 Recordholder, Country: Czech Republic fykseN Mapper CS 1.6 Recordholder, Country: Korea, Republic of shooting-star CS 1.6 Recordholder.

It demonstrates the power of a technique you wouldn't expect anything of. Wallslide!

I give the word to fykseN:

Wallslide is a technique used to cut the shortest distance between two blocks on a straight wall. Performed by players in the past, but being tested and described in the latest years. Performing wallslide requires a good balance between jumpoff and prestrafe speed, but the knowhow lies in the angle you are facing.

As of my contribution, I chose it to be energetic which comes in contrast to the actual lack of movement.
Another technical novelty allowed me to visualize from the top the angles chichin and ss were facing and how they managed to push the wallslide limits.

The angle is the most important part of this tech. In both - LJ and HJ, you need to control your prestrafe and jumpoff, but that's secondary. When you start moving on the block, try to keep your distance from the wall and connect to it just before you jump. Then adjust the angle to gain maximum potential speed. Wallslide can be combined with all known techniques, such as CJ and ACJ, sometimes it is much easier, safer and faster than classic techniques. Near perfect angles are shown in the clip. Scripting the technique unveiled a ridiculous possibilities (255.4 LJ), however it is up to us to find out how to far can you go with manual skill.

We hope this little project provides exciting illustration and provokes you to explore the depths of GoldSource!

  • hmm) interesting

User Avatar
  • A technique designed for those lazy people who don't want to strafe every jump to gain speed (like me). Awesome! GJ

  • I came here to ask the same

  • I made 251 block lj with this tech in 2015 :D

User Avatar
  • I knew that 250 block is nothing special, because it took me less than 30 minutes to land, meanwhile failing several 250 stats. Don't take these jumps as some kind of spectacle achieved after 100 hours of grinding. The video name "wallslide limits" is a clickbait, so people see something new, but the jumps arent actually overgeek and maxed out.
    So gj for 251.

Default XJ Avatar
  • 6:30 minutes for 251

User Avatar
  • Editing looks insanely unpolished.

User Avatar
  • That's always my biggest problem, if we mean the same thing :( But I'll get better, I promise

User Avatar
  • Keep working dude, never try to finish the edit asap. The smallest details can make a huge difference. It's just weird that XJ didn't go for video changes before posting.

  • kkz 2010.

User Avatar
  • tarGet 2006, what is your point here?

Default XJ Avatar
  • It's a nice movie and interesting technique. What's the point though in geeking that jump when you need equal space to gain speed as getting a good prestrafe? It's not like you could do 250+ wallslide in a tiny space when you need it (for example on a difficult map) :)

Default XJ Avatar
  • i hope i will not see 250 lj forced with this teck in future extreme maps after this news :D

Default XJ Avatar
  • The point of "geeking" (30 mins) that jump was to show people how strong it can be, if you master the technique. :-)

Default XJ Avatar
  • Good job blackelf.

To those who are interested in this technique:
The perfection of this jump lies in 1 frame where you have to switch keys and establish perfect alignment to the wall. Scoring high once does not make you expert :)

Default XJ Avatar
  • liar :D

User Avatar
  • i really liked that editing, for me it perfectly fits the content

i never tried this technique when i was playing and i always wondered how it is done. thanks for some insight hehe
