Stage #1: GSL Group Stage - 8 teams (could be extended depending on sign ups)
Stage #2: Playoffs Single Elimination- 4 teams (again, could be extended depending on sign-ups)
Stage #1: Group Stage [GSL-Style]
All teams will be divided into two groups according to the amount of people who signed up. Out of all teams, only four advance to the playoffs (unless more players sign-up and the amount accomodates the format). Initial match-ups will be put together according to an unnanounced way of seeding the teams.
All matches will be BO3 (best of threes). GSL-Style, which adopts a kind of double elimination format, where first, second, third and fourth place are always determined. If a team wins 2 matches with 0 losses, they will advance directly to the semifinals, if a team wins 2 matches, but loses once, they would advance to the other semifinal meeting the first place of the second group.
In case there are 16 teams, the winner of the upper final of the group goes directly to the semifinals, while the loser of the upper final and the winner of the lower final qualify for the quarterfinals.
During the initial match-ups, each team will pick which player will play first the first map. In case the first player wins a map, during the second map he will play against the teammate of the loser from the first map. In case he loses the second map, his own teammate will play against the the teammate of the loser for the third map. However, whether the team loses or wins, during their next match the second player will play first instead. Thus, should a team continue winning, their players will be always swapping positions on who would start first. In that case, even if a team manages pull off 2:0 wins all the time, this rule will ensure that each player gets to play an equal amount of times.
Stage #2: Playoffs
Depending on how many people will have signed up, either 4 or 8 teams will advance to the playoffs. As previously mentioned, depending on this number, the playoffs could have two Bo3 semifinals with a Bo5 Grand Final, or in the case with 16 teams, two pretedermined semifinalists with two Bo3 quarterfinals and a Bo5 Grand Final.
The way the 2v2s play out will remain exactly the same as in the group stage, as well as the nature of the matches.
Both Stage #1 and Stage #2 will use the pick/ban map veto system.
There will be 14 maps for each stage, thus making 28 in total.
Stage #1: 7 maps per group (bhop/climb/mix) that would give just enough time for a player to do his personal best within 5 minutes. All of them are considered to have easy to average difficulty.
Stage #2: 7 maps per phase. Each one consists of a balanced amount of bhop/climb/mix maps which ranges from average to hard difficulty.
Before the 2v2 matches starts, the administrators will use a plugin that will determinate randomly who is going to ban first. After that, with the help of a map veto plugin in the server, the following will occure:
First ban rotation:
1. Team1 bans first
2. Team2 bans second
3. Team1 picks first
4. Team2 picks second
Second ban rotation:
5. Team1 bans first
6. Team2 bans second
7. After Team2 decide their second ban, the last map will be used as a decider in case the result is 1:1
Stage #1: Main Group Stage
Stage #2: Playoffs
