Xtreme-Jumps XJ

Dear community,

As you've already known, last weeks were spent upon the look for a replacement to the CEO post. The list narrowed down to the group of 4 people. Funny but all of us have eventually united into a tight-knit team and are all charged up, looking towards innovations.

It is an inevitable given, that sooner or later we tend to leave. At this point, I would like to give my credits to
Country: France hoLy raaawr. For actually being able to take the important decision of assessing his abilities and to not linger at his post when no opportunity to continue favors him no more. But also for the hard work during his presence as the CEO. hoLy is the man who has once taken over the fading community and with this post I would like to give him respect that he deserves but also to wish him good luck whatever it is he's going to fill this vacant spot with from now on.

Furtherly, I'm proud to present to you the new line-up in the management:

Country: Georgia Hardbitter 3's - CEO
Country: Czech Republic fykseN Mapper CS 1.6 Recordholder Streamer - COO
Country: Korea, Republic of shooting-star CS 1.6 Recordholder Streamer - COO
Country: Germany PeKz^ KZMod Recordholder - CTO
Country: Sweden sitka - CTO

Thereby, we have all the necessary work force ready in order to focus on some important tasks which were planned long time ago but have never been implemented. We promise to you some actual content that we, as community, will rejoice together. But also justice, transparency (as much as it's possible due to the nuances) and a teamwork with the community and its members. So I take this opportunity to ask you to not hesitate and to speak your mind about anything you feel is worth being heard, which will be 100% taken into account. I'm sure we'll have some good time together, XJ!

P.S. Don't forget to check out the demo release down below if you've missed it out.

Thanks for your attention and see you soon,
ShoCk

  • A question that was lingering in my mind, was the management line-up approached personally, or did they individually apply for these positions? What sort of openings are currently present for people who'd be interested to contribute? Good luck to the new team!

Default XJ Avatar
  • When it comes to replacements in the management it is a very sensitive topic which usually wholly inclines to decision of the predecessor, and this case is not an exception. Usually it is a question of trust, experience and personal qualities.

We are absolutely open to review anyone offering help of whatever sort at the moment. However, we currently are still in the state of forming up the squads and once we set things in the right order with current admin state, we may come with another announcement recruiting new members into our team. Right now, as I mentioned above, we are open for any kind of help but at this very point I'm not ready to be any more specific on that matter yet.

  • While I hold the utmost respect for the decision at hand, I am compelled to offer a critique, as it appears to me that it may be lacking in decisive action and may potentially be viewed as an indication of nepotism, given that the two Chief Operating Officers have been appointed based on their affiliations with the current board rather than their proven track records in a managerial capacity. Additionally, the appointment seems to have overlooked the importance of international management, particularly in light of South America's significant contribution to the community's success.

Furthermore, I cannot help but question the wisdom of appointing two Chief Operating Officers who are known to be friends, which could lead to a conflict of interest in the decision-making process. This suggests that the current decision may not have been arrived at through a democratic process. In my professional opinion, a better approach would be to conduct an external survey to determine the necessary staffing requirements and tasks.

To support this viewpoint, it is worth noting that a renowned management theory proposed by Peter Drucker emphasizes the importance of matching employees' skills and competencies to the organization's goals and objectives. This is achieved through rigorous internal analysis and market research to ensure that the right individuals are selected for the right roles.

So, a thorough and objective approach that incorporates external and internal analysis, market research, and an adherence to established management theories is likely to yield a more effective and democratic outcome for the organization. Have you e.g. considered a highly educated person like Pepi, yet?

User Avatar
  • I was actually baited for what you said till the very end where you mentioned Pepi.

"two Chief Operating Officers who are known to be friends, which could lead to a conflict of interest in the decision-making process." -> The current demoadmin team is built by good friends outside the team and it seems to be working fine, I don't see an issue with two COO being close to each other, at all.

  • Hi, sbzvln!

Please, take my reply above to ShawnTawn as something to start off as an answer for your appeal.

It's good that you have some competence in personnel management but the fact that we are a nonprofit structure should answer most of your concerns. Personally not only I think that a friendship between two COOs is not a crime, but also brings communication on another level. However, if you don't agree with current setup, you have the forum to start debates about anything you like and if we see mass discontent, the measures will be taken. But my opinion is if it wasn't for the reasons stated in my reply above, your touch could've had a fair place to be. And not, we have not considered Pepi, yet :)

Thanks for having an opinion on that matter though!

  • ^holy is not leaving, at least for now

Default XJ Avatar
  • cool, good luck guys!

can I somewhere see what will be the responsibilities for each of the roles (COO, CTO, CEO, etc.)?

Default XJ Avatar
  • CEOs are responsible for managing a company's overall operations. This may include delegating and directing agendas, driving profitability, managing company organizational structure, strategy, and communicating with the board.

The COO is a manager with broad responsibilities that range from managing day-to-day operations to providing strategic advice. They oversee daily administrative and operational functions, reporting directly to the CEO and being second only to this person for company affairs.

CTOs are the head of development. They use technology for the benefits of company. Website, game servers, discord and whatsoever - their mission is to make these things work properly, meet our needs and be up to date.

Note that these interpretations were mostly borrowed from commercial business model and can differ from the reality to some extent.

Default XJ Avatar
  • Thanks, Hardbitter!

It would be cool if any of the new CTO's could add more detailed description in administration page under each admin so community actually would understand the importance of the person

Default XJ Avatar
  • also why skArp was removed from staff?

Default XJ Avatar
  • skarp is still there as head demo admin, what are you talking about?

Default XJ Avatar
  • he was in "XJ Staff" section previously in Administration tab, now he is in "CS 1.6 Admins" section and I wonder if there was any thought behind that

Default XJ Avatar
  • also I saw TuF as a new cup admin (I think he is new, didn't at least remember seeing him before), so is there any information about potential XJ cups in the future (approximately when?)?

User Avatar
  • He's not new

Default XJ Avatar
  • wrong then, thanks!

Default XJ Avatar
  • we are still about to discuss planning of cups in the future with inner admin team, we want to organize them on more regular basic
at the moment I can only say that we plan to organize again the traditional XJ spring cup, which unfortunately did not take place last year

Default XJ Avatar
  • amazing to hear! lets hope that stars will align and spring cup will happen at least this year

also hopefully somebody will stream it, because gorbachev is comment banned and looks like has a beef against XJ :D

maybe stream admin should be also as an official role in XJ?

  • In 2023, managing an organisation is a complex task which comes with many responsibilities and areas to focus on as to achieve success (Shapiro, 2019). In this comment, an overview and insights of what an organisation must do to achieve success will be done, as to better understand what makes management effective and thereby implement it into Xtreme-Jumps - a community within a subset of the video game Counter Strike 1.6, considered by many to be the main organisation of the subsector and as such requires the most competent management.

Kreedz - the subset discussed above, has been declining in popularity since the start of 2012 (Scary, 2012). There are a variety of reasons for this, the main ones being:
    1) An aging player base.
    2) An influx of cheaters and greater players causing record holders to lose motivation to play the game.

To counter the first point, the management must offer incentives and focus more on the viewership of world record holders in the current high level of skill period, as the concept of viewing players of greater skill then one had ever achieved brings an element of satisfaction to the older player base and is crucial to maintain interest.

The second point, and perhaps the most important, is the topic of must heated debate. McL (2011,2012,2013,2014,2015,2016,2017,2018,2019,2020,2021,2022,2023) states that there is a large percentage of cheaters within the current playerbase, and attributes this not to the skill meta of this era, but due to the easily accessible undetectable hacks that are available in the market. This viewpoint is not agreed upon by all. For instance, Gorbachev_x (2023) states that this viewpoint is redundant and is due to "pettiness", rather then following a thorough logical process. McL (2023) however noted the discrepenancy and hypocrisy in Gorbachev_x's comment, linking a private conversation between the two from 2017, where Gorbachev_x accused the very same players that he now defends as legitimate, as cheaters. Sitka (2021); one of the members of the community which has a large amount of financial capital and is now part of the administration of the community, expressed his non-desire to donate to tournaments due to his viewpoint that there are many cheaters and he does not want to give them his hard-earned money. The administration must demonstrate a willingness and to tackle potential cheaters, moreso then has been done in the past. This can be done by implementing a client-side anti-cheat which is required to run during a cup or tournament. Refusal to obey will result in players being disqualified from the tournament. An idea of a client-side anti-cheat was first proposed and broughtforth by Phantometry (2015) in Cosy-Climbing - also a community within Kreedz, however players noted that they did not feel safe downloading an application from a man that had a shady history regarding cheating and hacking. To rectify this, the administration and anti-cheat developer must be trusted and respected within the community as for the players to feel safe.

By following the discussions above and taking into consideration the advice set out, the management can have a better understanding of the overall landscape and mindset of the community and as such take measures to create and maintain satisfaction within the communinity, which will result in more money being donated and more interest, thereby leading to a healthy and successful community.

  • @sbzlvn correct. @pepi yes i had to expose gorbachev because he just change his opinion base on friendship and not being fair play. Like the demo was obvious cheated as he state. In my opinion the scene downgrade so so so bad after faker retire. Guys you have to understand that without germans XJ is nothing. Germans kept this community and manage it so well untill faker/edark/ody gone , XJ was in it's prime. This video basically shows the real KZ and how the KZ scene looked -link- . XJ needs another faker. I wished the COO was wayz the last german i know to be one of the greats . He sadly is gone too :(

Wish you all the best, hope you'll carry as good as hoLy revived XJ from the Ashes after Dimitri.
hoLy; You kinda marked you're era on your own while bein one of the best CEO XJ never has after faker and the oldschool management. Never could have imagined that when we used to be on teamspeak WR biloute !! chapeau bas !
I've been blessed to work with you for our last stone to the community with zyllEE's Movie.

This is some old nicknames that we should get respect, and 'trust' for the sake of the community.
Happy to see friends which i had many chats with bro like Sitka & Hardbitter, (not that much for fykseN PeKz and s-s who kinda came way after i was already inactive and couldn't catching up that much with them.) evolving in a way more 'responsible' way for the game/community that we love.
