What is Xtreme-Jumps?
- Xtreme-Jumps is a kreedz climbing based community. We are doing as much as we can to explore the different areas of kz jumping. We are coming up with new ideas every day. We administrate cups as much as possible if not every day in our irc-channel #Xtreme-Jumps and, actually, some of the best jumpers in the world(!!) are part of the Xtreme-Jumps admin crew.
How do I contact an admin?
- Our IRC-channel. Admins prefer being contacted through IRC. And it's the easiest way (if you know how to use IRC, we recommend it.).
- Our forum. Simply create a forum-thread with your question/matter in it.
- The chatbox. The chatbox can be found on the right side of the front page. Please do not post long questions in the chatbox. We prefer you post them in the forums. If you need to speak with an admin urgently, you can post that you need an admin from the chatbox.
- Private message. See our administration page for this
Who are admins of Xtreme-Jumps?
- The admins can be viewed here.
Can I get +v/+o in #Xtreme-Jumps?
- You can not get +o if you do not apply to be an admin (more information about this in the question below this one). There are some reasons for people having +v
- He/She is an ex-admin who did a lot of work and efforts for XJ in the past.
- He/She is sponsoring us.
- He/She is an admin over a community that is official partner with Xtreme-Jumps.
- He/She is a well known jumper/mapper (the management decides who is well known).
How do I become an admin of Xtreme-Jumps?
- You can apply from this page.
How do I submit my demo(s)?
- You can find information about rules for demos and how to submit your demo(s) here.
How often do you administrate weekly cups?
- Every weekend we hold different cupslike 2vs2, 4vs4, mellee.
How do I participate in a cup?
- First of all you must read the rules for cups. After that wait until our admins make a news post on the front page of the website and just signup in the comments.
Do you have certain rules on/in your website/irc-channel/jumpcups?
- Yes, the rules can be found on this page.
Why can't I access the demo-section?
- You must be logged in to be able to access our demo section. You can register here.
I've downloaded a demo but I can't open a .rar-file. How do I open it?
- .rar-files are compressed files. You need WinRAR to open .rar-files. You can click this or this link to download WinRAR. Now uncompress the file with WinRAR. Then put the demo in your cstrike-folder (unless you un-RARed it in that folder) and start counter-strike. To view the demo you type "viewdemo demo-name" or "playdemo demo-name".

I need to know a code for a specific door in a map. Where can I find the code?
- The codes can be found in this forumthread.
What is a "Timerbug"?
- A timerbug is a timeshift between the ingame kz timer (which uses the HL engine clock) and the record time/real time.
- The longer server uptime you have, the less synchronized the ingame timer and record time will be. To avoid this we recommend you to restart your LAN as often as possible.
- A timerbug occurs with a probability of 90% if the server is running longer than 60 minutes, therfore you have to restart the server after 50-60 minutes.
- A timerbug fools you to think that you are faster than you actually are, and that`s why your record will be denied and replaced by another player's record - if his demo has a synchronized ingame and record time.
- Tools such as DemoChecker or Fps Death help you to see the record time. Both of these tools use the HL-engine clock to get the correct value of the record time.
- Timerbug example: You stop the ingame kz timer at 02:00, but the record time is showing 02:01, 02:02, 02:03 or slower. A non timerbugged demo would show the same ingame time as the record time, both showing 02:00.
- Due to the kz timer's slight inaccuracy we've implemented real time records to prevent timerbugged demos and unfair time shifts (see // Timer rules under Demo rule section for details).
What is AXN and how to install it?
- 1. What is AXN?
- 2. How to Install the AXN plugin and how to start it:
- 3. Some tips for mappers who want to build AXN maps:
AXN is a Metamod plugin (and not an AMX plugin!) that enables different options for Counter-Strike 1.x. There are a lot of different options. Anti-headshot system, increasing the flashout time caused by flashbangs and asphyxiation in smoke grenades are only some of these various options! The most options have no impact on KZ Jumping.
But AXN offers several jump options too:
axn_longjump 1/0 (for longjump behaviour like in original Half-Life)
And of course the important command axn_bunnyjump 0/1 which turns on the way of jumping in counter-strike 1.3 (no slowdown after landing, so you can do faster and better bunnyjumps).
But remember, there is no auto-bhop function. You have to do the bunnyjumps yourself. You only get a lot of faster if you learn to handle AXN's physical engine.
First of all you have to download a pre-installed Metamod & AXN pack which is including all important files.
Now unzip (with Winrar) the pack in your cstrike directory (steam/youremail/counter-strike/cstrike). After you did the unzipping, there should be a folder called "addons" in your cstrike folder!
Now we have to check how to get the plugin working. You have to start a LAN game, and in-game you have to open your console and write axn_bunnyjump 1.
This command is able to be set to three different values:
0: Disable
1: Allows CS 1.3 style jump action (you don't slow down when you land as you do in 1.4 and later versions).
-1: Similar to 1.
After you activated the AXN plugin you have to write "sv_restart 1" to get AXN completely enabled. If you don't use the restart command you only get the half of the possible speed with AXN.
To record a world record demo on one of the AXN Maps you have to use the following config values:
Serverside:
axn_bunnyjump "1"
mp_footsteps "1"
sv_cheats "0"
sv_gravity "800"
sv_airaccelerate "10"
sv_maxspeed "320"
sv_stepsize "18"
sv_maxvelocity "2000"
Clientside (Player):
developer "0"
fps_max "99.5"
You can read all of the rules for world record demos here.
A) The distance between two jumps:
Start with some easy jumps. Use the normal 1.6 jump distances (ex: 112/120 units) and then try to add some longer (=harder) jumps. A 368 unit jump is a good limit for an easy map. Measure the distances between the middle of the blocks, not the edges.
Bunnyjumps are possible between two 32 unit high blocks.
B) Beware off high r_speeds:
High wpoly rates (above ~ 1200 wpoly) are often encountered in regular kz_maps, resulting in minor lags that does not have a big impact on FPS. But an AXN map feels "slow" or "sticky". So very big unit jumps becomes hard.
So remember to get your map tested by good bhoppers to be sure it is fun for the jumpers to jump

How to learn Jumping?
