Every group will have a melee format [Everyone vs Everyone] throughout 3 maps that will be the same for every group.
The last 2 players of the first map and the last player of the second and the third map will be disqualified. 16 players advance to the next stage.

2. Swiss Group Stage [CS:GO edition] - The remaining 16 players will be seeded randomly against each other for the first round. All matches are BO3 and 1v1.
8 players advance to the playoffs.

First Round: Opening matches, the result will determinate if the players advance to the "High" group or the "Low" group depending on their result - 1:0 or 0:1.

Second Round: The winners and the losers of the first round are divided into 2 groups - "High" [1:0] and "Low" [0:1].
Each player is drawn an opponent they have not played yet from their group.

Third Round: Depending on the results of the second round, the players will be divided into 3 groups that will play against each other:

All matches are 1v1
The seeding in the quarterfinals will depend on who qualified first and the player's swiss record.

#1 3:0 vs #8 3:2
#2 3:0 vs #7 3:2
#3 3:1 vs #6 3:2
#4 3:1 vs #5 3:1

Map Veto:

The map veto for both the Swiss Group Stage and Playoffs will use a pick/ban method using only 7 maps. Each stage will have their own map pool [see below for the maps]. In order to be fair with the different styles of the players, we will be separating the maps into 3 groups:

3 bhop maps
3 climb maps
1 unique map that includes nonstandard techniques.

In order to be even more fair, both the climb and the bhop maps will have the 3 standard difficulties:

- 1 easy bhop and climb map
- 1 average bhop and climb map
- 1 hard bhop and climb map

*As for the "unique" map - it will have an average difficulty.

Before the match starts, the administrators will use a plugin that will determinate randomly who is going to ban first. After that, with the help of a map veto plugin in the server, the following will occure:

First ban rotation:

1. Player1 bans first
2. Player2 bans second

Map picks:

3. Player1 picks first
4. Player2 picks second

Second ban rotation:

5. Player1 bans first
6. Player2 bans second

Decider:

7. After player2 decides his second ban, the last map will be used as a decider in case the result is 1:1

Schedule: Matches are played non-stop. First match starts at 15:00 CET, 5 minutes per each map, four days tournament.

News: ROTW #215 - throttle on ccn_make

Xtreme-Jumps ROTW

Mesdames et messieurs,

On today's agenda we are pleased to have 215th run of the week. throttle takes us into the abyss of long corridors. Of intricate constructivistic corridors, made of walls that do not absorb the sound of footsteps, only to induce an endless echo. Where distant sound of machines can still be heard. Rooms of oppressive concrete ceilings.

In the clip below, low- demonstrates throttle's entangled ways of achieving the record, amplifying the claustrophobic feeling of the map with vertiginous opening to the show. low- surely knows the measure of such pressure, since he struggled with this clip for a long time, for off reasons. Although the soundtrack can give the impression of subsidiary, according to throttle it took an important role in the building of the run by preventing anxiety.

In love with you, low-.

Xtreme-Jumps Misc

It's been a huge time since the last Highlight!

This one does not shine with novelty, it looks completely buried. Stuck at thousand views and I have a feeling I am the only one watching it, every now and then. If you sum the miskee11 re-upload's views, which is another ancient by the name of kafds, it still does not cross the 2000 line for each of these clips. miskee11/12 used to collect the fruit of this community, if you don't know.

This newpost is dedicated to series of short highlights made by chip.

So, chip being the prominent longjumper that he is, had the ability to trick out jumps that were otherwise thought of as impossible. Like the dust2 reverse bhop, or the inferno jump. The obvious jumps everyone seemed to try once but failed, and then there is the surprise factor to his virtuosity, because you don't expect it. Others were just nice.

The movie craft of chip extends even more, to a degree that his editing abilities made me enjoy some of his clips of music genre I wouldn't otherwise find pleasure in. Isn't that an achievement? He has always been notorious with burn-out transitions and splendid sense of timing that I absolutely loved. And then there is more that I can't show to you, therefore I now suggest you take your own, unique look into the art of chip.

Another dust2 jump

News: Cross-Community Bans + Rules Update

Cross-Community Bans

Hello everyone,

It's finally time to introduce the ban system that has been discussed for a while now. The purpose of this community ban system is to make the work of demoadmins easier and hopefully improve the cooperation of demoadmins from different communities. There is simply no reason to let players try and submit cheated demos to another community if they already got caught in another. Especially since most of our demo tools are the same across communities.

How does it work?
Any player who gets permanently banned for cheating in another kz community automatically loses his right to submit demos to XJ (after the demo has been checked by us too). They don't get banned from here, but they lose their right to be a part of the recording business.

In the future, any player that gets caught for cheating that results in a permanent ban in XJ or in any other community will also lose all their world records here, no matter if they're legit or not.

Getting caught here for cheating will still result in a ban. The duration of the ban depends on the severity of the cheating.

Rules Update

As you might have noticed this particular rule was recently discussed a lot after the latest release:

"You may not destroy breakable objects (like bridges for example) or push buttons (with an exception for HP boosters), or push movable objects, before you have pushed the start button."

After we noticed how much room for misunderstanding this rule gives we decided to update it. The new rule will be written like this:

"All objects (doors, breakables, movable objects) and triggers must be in their default state before you press the start button. However you're allowed to press the start button from any position you can reach it from."

Default state here means as if sv_restart 1 was used. It has always been allowed to use buttons through walls if you could reach them, we hope now the rule explains more clearly what can be done.

If you have any questions about these do comment below or pm any of the demoadmins.

Yours,
XJ

Xtreme-Jumps ROTW

Good evening XJ!

After a little bitter goodbye of Hardbitter (he submitted a new demo!) we present you an indication the heart of our community still beats as there are talents ready to take care of this edition in a matter of hours, of course, it might be a special case, but lets taste it!

Apparently, fykseN in his rush for top #1 destroyed Oasis with a Juice-found shortcut, which is an interesting one! Discussion on forums. Join the club of witnesses with the evidence provided by weng directly from the scene! This marks history for kz_kzsca_oasis, as some would've said. You get the gist!

Country: Czech Republic fykseN Mapper CS 1.6 Recordholder:

I never planned to record this map. We played it on public the other day and I've noticed that with some extra things my time is faster than the current WR. That was unexpected for me and for other players too, as Country: China fanzeng CS 1.6 Recordholder's blocktime seemed invincible. I started streaming the map and I eventually finished in 03:00.23. It certainly wasn't easy to deal with the previous run, it took a lot of time to beat the map, I was changing things a lot. The moment I was done, Country: Russian Federation Juice ._. showed me a pixelwalk shortcut (found by accident), and I wanted to do the same run with the shortcut included. I added few new things to the run, which pleases me more than the shortcut itself (which saves around 7 seconds). I managed to beat the map in both ways, and that's something that makes me happy in the end. This one was always somewhat iconic as a balanced, speedy hard map. That's it from me, enjoy the clip.
