What's up, XJ?

Today, we are bringing to you a brand new interview performed by good ol' Country: Czech Republic PU9maker CS 1.6 Recordholder concerning one of the strongest players in the world at the moment, I'm talking about Country: Czech Republic fykseN Mapper CS 1.6 Recordholder Streamer!

I wish everyone fun while reading this piece of text by expanding this newspost!

--------------------------------------------------
Country: Czech Republic PU9maker CS 1.6 Recordholder: Hello fykseN, let me indroduce you. Your name is Kryštof, born and raised in Czech republic, 24 years old, you work in a Shipping export industry and...?

Country: Czech Republic fykseN Mapper CS 1.6 Recordholder Streamer: And I'm a cat owner, music lover, music collector and occasional gamer. It's a bit hard to describe yourself in a nutshell now that I'm thinking about it. By the way thanks for having me, PU9maker, it's an honor to do an oldschool interview with you.

Country: Czech Republic PU9maker CS 1.6 Recordholder: This question has always been my favourite - Lets take a little trip back in time and tell us something about how it all started. What's the story of fykseN?

Country: Czech Republic fykseN Mapper CS 1.6 Recordholder Streamer: The story goes back to 2005 when we started playing Counter-Strike 1.6 in school after class. I was maybe 9 years old when my PC hobby group teacher noticed that I'm pretty good in shooting and I fell in love with the game. It was 2008 when my friend helped me download a Non-Steam CS at home and I started playing a lot, usually public servers. Most important year in that regard was 2009, when I started playing online leagues and 100aa HNS. I was trying to expand into both directions - competitive and movement. Even with a pretty bad PC and parents that would be more restrictive than supportive, I got pretty good in both and I was able to build successful teams as a kid. As you know, all of this ended with CS:GO being released in 2012, we finished last play-offs and everything just went dark and inactive. During that time I started playing more KZ, leaving competitive CS completely aside. You can already see where I'm going with this, I am a tryhard. Seeing shooting-star's times on publics I pushed myself on every map until I got rid of checkpoints completely and my friend Zoid forced me to record my first KZSK record (big thanks to him for doing so). Then I remember downloading and watching a demo for a first time - mgD on kz_bridge. I got absolutely stunned comparing that gem to KZSK record that I was trying to beat, it really got me hooked. I claimed kz_bridge on KZSK after 14 days of intense multi-hour sessions, and I knew it'd not the last one. That was it, fykseN origins.

Country: Czech Republic PU9maker CS 1.6 Recordholder: I believe it was shooting-star who introduced us in... 2013? You were very enthusiastic about the game and naturally gifted player. A warrior who doesn't give up. I remember it like it was yesterday spectating you on Spider1's map kzro_darkhole and I thought to myself "A new star is born" and I wasn't wrong. You were constantly asking me and shooting-star about "tips and tricks" how to become a better player... and look at you today. Now, people look after you. Tell us about the 7 years adventure which made you one of the most recognizable players there is.

Country: Czech Republic fykseN Mapper CS 1.6 Recordholder Streamer: Over the years I realized that you have to be a complete package in order to reach a high level, and that applies to all games. I remember struggling a lot transitioning from 100aa to 10aa, overstrafing, overlaping, missing bhops. That essentialy made me study more demos and ask more questions, mostly asking you and shooting-star. You two had the biggest impact on my way of KZ thinking, but I had to start mixing in some influence from others. I would say that Toffifee brought a lot of raw skill to the table when he came back in 2016. Looking back and analyzing what happened that year is important, because Toffifee and shooting-star created first big era after LEWLY's departure. Their competition and unseen approach resulted in nearly 50% of the whole records list being overwritten with fresh and cutting edge demos. I was witnessing all of that, gathering information and using their knowledge. I had some initial success in tournaments and some first real world records being done, but I was still an underdog. I was also mixing in a lot of Cosy-Climbing and KZSK records and I did that a lot. When my bhop stopped being "undercooked" and my overall speed got better, it was time to launch a first real attack on XJ records. shooting-star's dream was to become real top 1 XJ player, ever since I met him years ago. I agree that you need to invest a lot of time and effort, but seeing it all being done by him and Toffifee certainly helped me realize that it doesn't need to be only a dream. In the beggining of 2019 I had a little crisis in my work life and life in general, I felt like I needed to do something significant. That's how my idea of streaming a road to top1 was born. It was something never done before, it was doable and it opened up a new opportunities for me and other players. People are asking me a lot of questions on my twitch streams and I'm always happy to give away tips. I know how important it was for me.

Country: Czech Republic PU9maker CS 1.6 Recordholder: You've also became an importatnt part of KZ communities in general. A head admin alongside with hoLy here on XJ, member and admin of kz-random and KZSK. I used to be COO on XJ and it wasn't always a pleasant job to do. What happens "behind the courtains" these days? What are your plans for the future of KZ world?

Country: Czech Republic fykseN Mapper CS 1.6 Recordholder Streamer: Oh yes, my everlasting memberships. Apart from XJ, we are relaunching kz-random website in the nearest future. I know that users here might not care too much, but it's my second family and the most important project that I'm a part of. I would just like to say: stay tuned, you might be interested in our next steps. Talking about XJ, there are things being done behind the courtains. Most importantly kreedz.com project that is being worked on since early 2019. I don't feel entitled talking about it publicly, but it's as ambitious as it was when it started. We will attempt to unify more communities to a single website that would hold our father's name. Even as a retired player I'd love to be a part of it in the future, hopefully everything works out as planned.

Country: Czech Republic PU9maker CS 1.6 Recordholder: My next question... the one and only FAME. It's hard to talk about it again but I believe he deserves to be remembered and honored for his contribution, hard work, dedication and time he spent catching cheaters. What the hell happened that such a nice person is no longer with us?

Country: Czech Republic fykseN Mapper CS 1.6 Recordholder Streamer: It's not easy to write or talk about it, you know how hard it hit us when it happened. Not only to me, FAME was a mentor and teacher. He was continuously learning how to improve himself, his websites and his fellow players/admins.
We still don't know what exactly happened, but I'd like to honor the intial request. When we got contacted by allejack, one of FAME's closest real life friends on discord. It was overly confusing and he didn't pick the right person to give the news to. I managed to contact allejack on Steam as juice suggested and we could talk about the situation. FAME lost his life and it was hard, but allejack wanted me to translate it all to the community without asking any more questions in the future. We should all honor it. For many of us, it was a first huge loss in our lives. I cried a lot, others were crying a lot. Community was linking together and mourning together. Sitka and few other guys launched a facebook group where people could share their feelings, nobody wanted to stay alone. If you'd like to go down the memory lane, you can visit FAME's steam profile and browse the messages. As allejack said, FAME loved improving the community even if his friends thought that it was stupid. That's the real reason allejack persisted in contacting XJ administration without knowing anything about it. Writing a necrolog was way too harsh for me and I don't know if I was ready to do that, it was too sad and non-filtered at the time. If you miss Denis or you feel sad about something, don't be worried to talk about it with others. Mental health should be your priority and we're here for you.

Country: Czech Republic PU9maker CS 1.6 Recordholder: Scrolling down XJ website and I couldnt overlook new names in WR releases but also surprisingly legendary names such as Flibo, DeathClaw, ShoCk a.k.a Hardbitter and even koukouz. What do you think is so charming and magnetic about KZ? It somehow has a way of pulling you back in over and over again.

Country: Czech Republic fykseN Mapper CS 1.6 Recordholder Streamer: KZ is such a specific thing to play. Once you earn enough experience and feelings, you will always gravitate towards it. Short answer for 2020 would be coronavirus (hi zza). Jokes aside, these guys have pure love for the game. As much as I have, as much as you have. All the stories tied to it are barely ending. Maybe you remember aloprando talking about Vee and their proffesional relationship in real life, perd0 and ZacI spending vacation together every year. KZ created life-long friendships and relationships. My life and memories are strongly tied to it as well - high school, work, relationships, music. That must be the reason why oldschoolers are coming back. Not to show everyone that they are still extremely good, but to re-live some sweet memories from the past.
I will definitely comeback one day.

Country: Czech Republic PU9maker CS 1.6 Recordholder: You're also known Twitch streamer. When did you start and why? Do you stream KZ only? Does it motivate you to try harder when youre beating a WR? How did your first stream feel like? Were you nervous?

Country: Czech Republic fykseN Mapper CS 1.6 Recordholder Streamer: I tend to stream KZ because I feel like it's the most exclusive thing I can do on the platform. I started in 2018 when beating kz_sola, I felt like it was something that I can share in real time. Not trying to be pushy, but I encourage you all to try it, it's fun. It's not much different from having a lot of spectators on your server, it's also more accessible to everyone. It does not motivate to try harder, but it's more rewarding when you share the time and experience with others. Being nervous is normal when you're performing for more people, I think I just embraced it when I started doing it regularly. Up to this date I did more than 45 live world records and they all been super enjoyable as a live experience.

Country: Czech Republic PU9maker CS 1.6 Recordholder: We are inevitably heading to the end of this interview but I have to say it's been so much fun reading your answers. It was like... time travelling. Suddenly all the precious memories and flashbacks pop up and make me bind "mwheelup" "+jump". Unfortunately this feeling dissolves as soon as I launch the game and find out what a noob I am after all these years of inactivity. Anyway, if there's anything you would like to say from the top of you head, here's your chance.

Country: Czech Republic fykseN Mapper CS 1.6 Recordholder Streamer: Yeah, thanks for having me! A few things on my mind for sure.

1) Guys, share fun and information together, don't waste your time wandering alone in this game. Join the Discord!
2) Watch out for voX and Xsi, these two little rascals might be up to something.
3) Stay safe during these difficult times, support when you can.
4) Protect patchouli at all cost.
5) Laugh at cheaters.

Shoutouts:
Biggest shoutouts to my kz-random worldwide family and my friends. Shoutout to MK Ultra, I never had that much fun in KZ ever since I started. Namely to shNz for executing the project and to zza for schooling us all, can't wait to do it all again. Shoutout to everyone who is active and creating something nowadays. One very special shoutout to perd0 for taking care of us for years. This year was a bummer but next year you'll be owning the world again <3.

Forever yours,
XJ
